Your destiny, your dream life, your ideal version of existence, lies beyond the walls of your comfort zone, deep in a metaphorical cave of dreams and ambition.

A lady leaving a cave.
Beyond the cave.

Every great achievement, breakthrough or invention we know in this world, came about by a break with tradition, a shift from old ways of thinking and old ways of doing things.

Those who walked into that cave were ridiculed, abused and in some cases, even died in the process.

Let’s explore the cave you’re afraid to enter that holds the treasure you seek, and see what we find…

#1 - The Cave You’re Afraid To Enter

The cave.

The unknown is a place of fear. That unknown place of fear is a cave, a metaphorical cave that you may be afraid to enter, but ultimately, where the treasure you seek lies in wait.

You see, deep down, I believe everyone knows what they need to do, what they should do and what they want to do.

But, even if that’s the case, why are so many people out of sync with their true calling or purpose in life – if there is such a thing? Why are so many people not "living their dream", so to speak?

#2 - The Treasure You Seek

The treasure.

Everything you seek, all of your dreams, ambitions and true vocations, already exist, somewhere in the universe. They are almost close enough to see, and yet, remain just far enough out of reach that you can't touch, yet.

"... all of your dreams, ambitions and true vocations, already exist..."

However, by finding the courage to take action and follow the path that makes sense to you, that cave will become a key, a key to open doors to everything you've been searching for.

Summary

This quote should serve as a reminder to you that, whatever you are working on or in pursuit of achieving, no matter how lonely the road gets, no matter how dark times get, you need to persevere.

No matter how much fear you feel about doing something different, doing something you haven't done before, you need to lean into that fear, feel it, embrace it and continue to do the thing that frightens you anyway.

Here are some key takeaways that this quote can inspire in all of us:

  1. The opposite of courage is not cowardice, it is conformity. It is acting like everyone else, without knowing why.

  2. Start where you are, use what you have, do what you can.

  3. Don’t let fear stop you achieving things in your life, you too can find the treasure you are seeking.
