All Things Have Their Beginning In An Idea

No matter who you are, where you’re from or how you’ve lived, you’ll have encountered something – a product, a service or a business – that started life as someone else’s idea.

It’s amazing to think that everything, at least the majority of things, emanated from someone’s imagination – from the device you may be listening to this podcast on, to the battery powering it, from the Bluetooth technology transmitting the audio signal to your headphones, to the footwear on your feet, all things have their beginning in an idea.
However, not all ideas make it out of a person’s head, not all ideas make out of a person’s sketch book and not all ideas make it beyond the stage of a prototype or a topic of conversation, but they still exist.
The difference between the ones that make it into our everyday lives and those that remain as dreams, is the action taken by an individual (or group of individuals) to bring them to life.
Have An Idea
That is the beauty of the world we live in, everything has been made up – even the words we use in everyday language – and everything is possible, the most important thing to do is to believe in yourself and the power of your dreams, only then will you endeavour to follow through and find a way to bring your ideas into reality, no matter what.
For example, think about some of the largest, most popular companies you know, or even some of the oldest companies that we see around us today. In most cases, it’s easy to take their existence for granted as they have become as normal to us as the air we breathe.
Motorcars, aeroplanes, trains, Biro pens, and then some things that have gone on to become brand names in their own right, ranging from Selfridges to Sainsbury’s, from to Ferrari to Nike, all were once just ideas, sketches in someone’s notebook that may never have seen the light of day had circumstances been different for the individuals who brought them to life.
Summary
So, in summary, the lesson here is that you should never doubt or compare your ideas with others that have come before, everything begins with an idea and no idea is wrong or right (in my opinion).
Key Takeaways:
Create a new note page in your phone’s note app or buy a blank notebook and give it a title.
Use the notebook or your note app solely for the purpose of capturing all of your ideas – some will be terrible, some may be ok, but there may be one of those ideas that will be great.
When you come up with that so-called ‘great’ idea, do your research, validate it and work on bringing it to life, if feasible!
